This is the reason Jim put wire fencing around our trees down by the pond. Look at the size of that stump! And there’s not a branch left on it either. This tree was growing on our neighbor’s property, but now it’s being used as food for the beavers and material to build up the dam. Darn that Barney!
The other morning I saw him swimming across the pond with a leafy branch dragging behind him. It was a really pretty time of day…steam rising off the pond and the sun shining on the trees in the background. I liked the picture of it so much I sent it into the local TV station and they used it on their weather segment the next morning. Now I’ve had my 15 seconds of fame to go along with the 15 minutes I had this summer.Sure glad to see so many Space friends coming over to Blogger. I really don’t trust Windows Live anymore. I moved all my stuff over to Wordpress, but it’s just so I have it in storage somewhere. I don’t plan on using that blog at all. I like Blogger and so many other apps that Google provides. Picasa for photo editing and online albums, I use Google Docs so I can access certain documents no matter where I am, Google Reader for all my RSS feeds and I love Gmail and all of it’s features. MSN has some nice things, like Live Writer, but that’s about the only app of theirs I use anymore.

Busy Barney!! But you haven't been no slouch yourself getting published and then your photo on tv! I bet it is beautiful in your area. I can smell the wood stove from here!
I would say that old Barney is busy as a beaver. Great photos as usual.
I should be as busy as Barney, love the photos as well. Nice to get the photo published too.
Beavers, a little to busy for me but fun to watch.
Beavers dammed a small stream and during heavy rains the road next to it would flood. The beavers were caught and moved .... they thought. Dam was higher following year and covered parts of the road....
@John...I understand completely what you're saying and why people have a dislike for beavers. The pond they created by damming the Arnold Creek is in a perfect location for them. It's upstream from all roads and it's created excellent wildlife habitat. Lots of ducks, geese, turtles, frogs and other birds live here because of it.
That is a beautiful picture Cindy. I moved my stuff yesterday too. I will say I like the comments section better on wordpress then bloggers but other then that blogger seems to be the way to go. I have one here now too so come on over, I'll have a cold one ready for ya. :)
Wow wonder how long it took for him to get that tree down out there? Talk about work! Love the pic you have a great eye with that camera of yours. I added some at flickr for the time being. I had not done anything there in years!
wowzers! These guys really know how to go logging! lol! Gather up all those tree stumps and build yourself another cabin! That's crazy. Congrats on the picture being showed on your local weather station! It sure is pretty. I have to agree with you about MSN Spaces. I don't use mine anymore either but I do still use the live writer. Like you, it's about all I'm using these days. I love Google! ANd I also use several of the same features that you do. :)
