We were driving along and could see a turkey in the road in front of us. So we slowed down, I got my camera ready and here’s what happened. Mother goes into the ditch but the little ones didn’t follow. After a few attempts to round them up, she finally got all 8 of them out of sight.
This summer Jim decided not to mow all of the grass and let the wildflowers grow. I love seeing them and so do the butterflies and birds. My peony bush blooms about a month later than it’s ancestors do in Madison. We moved this one up here years ago. Some years the deer bite off the buds and I never get to see the pretty blossoms, but not this year.
I'm the female version of "Jack of all trades, master of none". I make bottle cap pincushions as well as other items made with felt and sell them in my Etsy Store, Up The Creek. I make most of these pincushions while at our cabin in northwest Wisconsin. Our cabin is right "Up the Creek" from an active beaver pond. There's always something going on out there. Birds and other wildlife are abundant Up the Creek. I try to get good pictures of bird and wildlife and will post them, even if they're not award winners. My goal is to share what I see. Not to win any medals.

Sweet pup :)
Turkey babies are just the ugliest...still, I love to see them. So ugly they're cute??
Don't let Bill see those turkeys lol. That's a great idea to let the wild flowers grow I think. They are gorgeous too! At least Molly thinks so!
