Yesterday we took a drive down our road and in a 9 mile stretch, there was high water running over the road in 5 different spots. The wind caused lots of trees to snap and of course some landed on the road. The first one Jim was able to drag off, but the next one was reason enough to turn around and take a different route. This bridge got wiped out by high water a few years ago. If it hadn’t blown out then, it probably would’ve happened in this storm. The dam down by the pond is still holding, but there’s lots of water going over the top. I took this picture of the pond this morning and I thought I’d go back and compare it to one I took in April. Oh ya, the pond is lots bigger now.
It had to happen. Yes, we saw our first snowflakes of the season on Wednesday. Nothing serious, compared to the wind and rain that pounded the country this week. It’s been ugly here for days. Today is the first day since Saturday that it hasn’t rained. It’s cool and windy, but at least that may help dry things out a bit.

I was wondering if you guys were up there or in Madison. Cold an windy here and please keep that weather you have up there! Oh yuk but look at all the firewood(?) Your pond is a lake! The deer is so cute and brave. Take care! Love the Molly photo above.
Keep the flakes up there please, we're not ready yet for them down here. That wind was a doozy. Trees, roofs, etc blown down. Glad it's over.
Yes we really are lucky here to NOT have any yet. I still have leaves on my yard that blew back in over the past few days. Snow will be here soon enough for me.. Love the pics..that deer was right in the lens it seems. The roadsides are full of them right now.. gives me the shakes to drive after dark!
Take care .. thanks for the pics I love them!
Wow you did get clobbered by the storm. I was finally out today driving and saw some downed limbs but nothing like you have. Poor Molly, all her summer fun has come to an end. Don't even want to think of getting Poco out in the snow, he hates being cold.
You said the "S" word and what's worse you took a picture of it...how rude lol. They must not plan to rebuild that bridge I assume. The deer knows where to go for a good meal, they are going to miss you this winter.
Now why did you have to go and mention that nasty S word. I am not looking forward to winter at all. You got some great pictures.
holy cow that was a big tree!
LOL, that lab. looks miserable ;)
love the pics!
Poor Molly certainly looks like she wants to be elsewhere, and the weather looks bad enough in your photo's without the threat of heavy snow too. So, fingers crossed it was a one off flake. xPenx
