The only exciting thing that happened today was we saw the sunshine!  The last time we saw it was on Monday.

I walked past the Little Free Library  again today and it was still empty. So I decided it was time to put some books in it.  You can donate any kind of book you'd like, so I added some novels, a book about Wisconsin and a cookbook.  This is really a cool idea.  It's a small wooden box that the 'owner' can decorate however they please.  The one near us must be 'owned' by the school because it's decorated just like their kiosk for displaying school notices.

From their website....

  • To promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide.
  • To build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.

Our Goal

To build 2,510 Libraries--as many as Andrew Carnegie--and keep going!

That is a cute box..around here it would be vandalized I guess so that is why they stopped doing it. I was told they haven't since the late 60's early 70's. So much is done "on computers" that they don't feel a need anyway. We donate to the thrift shops and to the library book drive. Cool here 45 this morning...nice break from the humid weather for sure. Have a nice weekend!!
